Roland's "...Two Shadows"

...if success is like dancing in the rain, then surely there is no comparison to seeing one's peer, a friend born of the same passion, achieving victory.

As a boy, living with his mother in an apartment in Detroit, Roland Yeomans found himself buried under a harsh winter storm, no power or heat for days.

As the temperature plummeted, hope dwindled. But Roland survived. And with him, a story was born...whispered from the lips of his mother.

Roland's mother is half Lakota Sioux, a storyteller in her own right. Unable to watch her son suffering from the cold on that bitter night, she hugged him close, whispering into his ear the story of, "The Bear With Two Shadows."

The tale intrigued him. Brought warmth to a land of ice and wind. A story he never forgot. A story that inspired him to one day pen his own tales of faraway lands, of heroes swirling in atrocity, facing unfathomable odds...and finding a way.

As did Roland.

Her story...his story, can now be shared. "The Bear With Two Shadows" is now available on Amazon's Kindle. Roland's first publication. It won't be his last.

"...My mother taught me to love winter. It is a season when you feel the bones of the landscape-the loneliness, the solitude of it. Something waits beneath winter..." R.Y.

"The Bear With Two Shadows" is a Celtic children's fable. One can link over by clicking on either Roland's name, or from my shortcut to his blog.

Enjoy... :)

Elliot, how extraordinarily gracious and great-hearted of you to do a whole post on my book. My mother in that Land That Knows No Shadows is smiling at you, too.

Michael (gideon 86) did the design and text of my cover. He, too, is a great friend -- as are you, Words Crafter, and Tessa -- who've all done posts for my debut novel.

Michael also labored all one day to undo the formatting mess I had made of THE LEGEND OF VICTOR STANDISH that an agent wanted to see the full manuscript.

Your post touched me at the end of a grueling, cold, wet, and draining work day. I pray my dream comes true where you and I sit side by side at a book-signing event. Thank you again, Elliot.

The spirit of my mother just sent you a kiss winging its way on the icy winds. Let me know of the release date of your book so that I can tell everyone of it -- and buy a copy myself. Always your friend, Roland

El,

Thanks for the kind words on my blog today. I've been sick and out of my writing element as of late, so it was great to hear I have a 'groove.' If only I can get back into it, things would be perfect.

This is a great post on Roland's book too. I've started reading it and it's rather wonderful. His is a man with the gift of beautiful prose and quick witted dialogue.

Do you have a release date for South of Charm yet? Or have you posted it and I have missed it?

J

Wasn't this nice of Elliot, RaShelle? Elliot is a great-hearted friend. And thanks, RaShelle. I hope you enjoy the read.

Levian : I hope you enjoy the magic and mystery of the world of the bear with two shadows. Thanks for being interested.

Jodi : I'm so sorry to hear you've been ill. For three weeks I was terribly ill with that crud. Now, it's trying for an encore!

And you have more than a groove. You have a unique style all your own. Thanks for the kind words about my prose and dialogue. And I'm keeping my eyes peeled for the release date of SOUTH OF CHARM like you.

Thanks again, Elliot, for this generous post, Roland

...thanks fellow writers over your support for one of our own.

Regarding your inquiries over the release date of "South of Charm"...

The galley held us up a bit, but all signs are pointing toward a late Spring, early Summer release...

Have a great week, everyone:)
